Very good product, makes grilling easier and yields better results (juicier steaks, more heat/less fuel, etc.). The hype is mostly correct about the trapped juices aiding the cooking and reducing flare-ups. But there is a small catch. The spacing on the raised bars is a bit wide for burgers and “soft” items. Good, fresh burgers tend to sag between the bars before they firm-up from cooking. I suppose the manufacturer will say to turn over the grates and cook on the flatter side, which works fine. But then you are frying on a griddle more than grilling on the grates (which is ok, I suppose). I also bought the griddle plate, which worked great for bacon and eggs. I was pleasantly surprised the eggs DID NOT stick to the griddle. I did season the grates and griddle plate with some grill spray oil. That seemes to work well. Bottom line is that these products are very good for a serious griller. If you are willing to clean a bit between grilling, and flip the grates from time-to-time, then you will get better results than the cheapy wire grates or even the better, thicker round wire or flat grates,
