Description 1n 1936, Texas celebrated its independence from Mexico. One of the many benchmark events during the celebration was the parade down Congress Avenue in Austin. This image revisits that era and permits us to review a time that so naturally mixed the past and the future. The Governor’s horse-drawn carriage and the glowing lights of the streetcars blend into the evening together “After the Centennial Parade”.
