On the 540rpm models, depth is adjusted by mechanical skids whereas on the larger 1000rpm models feature hydraulic skids. In addition, the rotor is driven by oil immersed gears. As a result very little power is lost through the drive train.High strength steels such as Hardox and Domex are used extensively in the construction of the machines. As a result, this gives the machines a superior resistance to wear and consequently a long working life. High quality bearings are used on all shafts.
